Just the March OLW Blog Hop

Happy March 1 everyone!  So glad to be rid of February, and so glad to be that much closer to spring!   And because its the first, the OLW crew is blog hopping again.  Our assignment this month was to take nine photos that captured our word.  I fell behind thanks to that nasty strep I had, but did manage to capture a few snapshots of serendipity. Well, what felt like serendipity to me anyway!!


This day in February I expected to be snowed in, but really.............,

Polka dot pillows and ones that sparkle, too,

This is totally cool,

And this one, I found on line when I googled serendipity,

And hmm........serendipity...... I was pretty thrilled when I saw this!!!!  The marvelous Miss MLE hosts a sketch challenge on the CP blog each month   I love her sketches every time and the other day finally found a little ttime to play with this one.  Its a fab combination -  CP and Miss M's sketches!!  Add it to your March "things to do" list.  And thanks for the shoutout Miss MLE.

Just recovering

from a strep throat that kept me with a fever, sleepy and really quiet for the last three weeks or so but am feeling better now and getting back into the routine.  And able to talk again!  I can't remember being that sick since I was a child - long, long ago..............Man, its tough when you are allergic to penicillin.

The snow has finally stopped and thankfully, there isn't another storm in sight.  Rain yes, like today, but none of the white stuff.  Hurry up and get here spring, I say!! 

So anyway, got back to my scrap room .........

dug deep into my stash on this one.  Well, as deep as I can since that MASSIVE purge when we moved.  Anyway,  these large black letter  rub ons were Arctic Frog!!!  And the white letter stickers, Heidi Swapp.

I'm not quite sure how this all happened actually, my plan was for something entirely different.........

And I totally missed most of the month in the OLW  class but thankfully, still have a few days to work on our assignment.  Another blog hop on the first of the month is coming too.

I did manage  to snap a photo of my sickly self, in my zebra pajamas, in front of the zebra shower curtain.  Funny what fever does to you!!

And now I'm off to OPEN my Studio Calico kit...............the February one!!!

Just A Thank You

for all the fun comments here yesterday during the OLW blog hop!  It was fun, and I can't wait to hop again next month.  It was such a blast to see so munch inspiration on so many blogs.

Just a OLW blog hop!!

Happy Tuesday everyone. Its a great day for a OLW blog hop!  Its snowing like MAD here - our total snow for January is about 60" or so.  There's another 12" the way, falling as I type this post. 


Anyway, my word?

So, absolutely, serendipity is my word.  I'm trying to own it, I'm enjoying it, I'm going to keep it with me for the next eleven months.

I really gave a lot of thought to the word I wanted to follow me through the year.  I wanted a positive word, one that was fun too, and one that "felt" like my life at times.  In the end, serendipity was it. 

Funny too, it REALLY has been keeping me company.   Seems like every few days, something happens that causes me to say to the big guy "It's serendipity!!!"  A couple of weeks ago,  I finally decided to bring up the rest of my rubber stamps and inks from the basement into my scrap room.   As I was going through my stamps, I discovered this one, which I TOTALLY forgot I even had.........

By chance, this stamp once belonged to the one and only Mr. Holtz!  Six or so years ago, while attending my first CHA , I was not only lucky enough to meet him, but he was giving away some of his stamps at the end of the day!  I got this one!  Cool, isn't it?

Just Here I Am.............

I know right?  Since December 5th - such a neglectful blogger  - but here I am! 

Work is wonderful.  It was quite the adjustment, and 9 to 5 REALLY cuts into my scrap time, but its all falling into place quite nicely now.  Its a fabulous firm, and I feel blessed to be working there.   And I'm finding my scrappy time groove .............

Christmas was marvelous,

especially the HP wide format printer that Santa left under the tree.  I LOVE it!  I haven't dabbled with any hybrid or completely digital pages yet, but I'm loving a traditional layout with a big photo!

So anyway, I'm taking Ali's "One Little Word" at BPS this year.  So far, the class is really cool, and I can't wait for our February assignment.  There are some terrific ladies there, so much talent in one place.  A  few of us will be having a little blog hop tomorrow, so again I say, here I am, getting ready to hop tomorrow!
