Just December

Hello and hope all enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday!  I had a mishap in the kitchen again.  Suffice it to say I underestimated how long it would take to cook the turkey and dinner was a couple of hours later than planned.  Oh well..........we did enjoy it, just not when we thought we would.

Anyway,  I haven't blogged much, but I've been busy, lots of it paper and glue related.  I was crazy excited to be asked to guest design for Creative Imaginations this month and was completely inspired by the products I received.  I've been having a blast creating  for a couple of weeks now.

Oh, I always love a mini album.....

Check out the rest of the book on the Creative Imaginations Blog.  I've a few layouts and another book that will be coming up over the next few weeks.  And while you are over at the blog, check out the cool Christmas feature taking place this month.  Inspo!!!!!!

I've started snapping for December Daily.  Having fun with it so far.

And today I'm strapping my camera around my neck and heading to the mall with a friend after we indulge in eggs benedict at a local breakfast spot.  Enjoy your day!

Just Perfect

My all time favorite movie is The Wizard of Oz. I watched it again the week before last actually.  Imagine my surprise when I saw this on Pinterest, pinned via Tammy Higinbottom.

  Its perfect.  And so true.

Just Ready for the Pictures Now

Happy weekend everyone, hope you are enjoying.

Well, I did it, and I'm thrilled about it.  I finished my DD album on Wednesday, and now, its all ready for the pictures - so psyched about that.  Now, here's hoping I have myself camera ready every day.

Will be posting the pages out of order, just the way I created them.  For some reason I'm having a terrible time photographing and trying to scan these, so for now, I've a mix of a few.

I left some of the album pages white so they can be full page photos, with white AE  "25 Days of December" overlays, purchased here.

photo from Designerdigitals.com

I kept the pages pretty simple, but seriously, can't wait to add more ribbons, clips and stuff once the photos go down.

On some pages, I used  border stickers cut in half and then stuck together back to back, to give the pages a fun, colored edge.

From this album, I've moved on to this one.  I got a SWEET box from my favorite Magpie yesterday and I don't think if was ten minutes from opening my box to getting into my room.

And for now, we're off to a birthday celebration - the little guy has hit ten years old.

Just A Start

Well, I was psyched to find a little chunk of time to get to some scrapping over the weekend - its been too long., and, unlike any other year, I'm finding myself in a Christmas mood in early November.  Blame the DD!!

I decided I wanted to keep the inside a little simple in order to give myself a better chance of following through and completing it this time.  I've still got to add buttons here and there, but its a start.

I started getting "antsy" doing the pages in order and started jumping around - like from page four to 18........still a ways to go though.

I'll post more pages, in order, this week.

Enjoy your Monday.

Just December Daily

Hey all.  Hope your Halloween was enjoyable.  I was home anxiously waiting for a few trick or treaters and was thrilled when three finally showed up.  That was it.  Three.   I had enough candy for lots more than that, so when they rang the bell at 7:30, I gave each of them a full bag of chocolate.. One had this really cool Scooby-do costume on - Loved it.

So, I'm on board for Ali's December Daily this year.  Its my second attempt, and I hope it works out better than the first - we got flooded out of our apartment for almost three weeks and I never got back to it, so I wanted to give it a go again.

I'm going partially from my stash, using a white 5 x 7 Bazzill Cover All album - yikes - I can't even remember how old that is.............

Lots of fun ways to bind  in this book, which is old, too...........remember this?

(photo joann.com)

Anyway, decided t a o go with a white, mint green, gray and red theme -.

I adored these  mint green and white polka dot adhesive fabric sheets I found on clearance at M's this morning, and things fell into place from there.  Not sure what I'm going to do for numbers yet.........

So, I'm in  my  jammies, gonna have me some soup and salad, and am off to build a book!!!!

Enjoy your Wednesday.

Just October

Well, a month since I've blogged.  The short version  -among a few other things,  the big guy had yet another heart event and was hospitalized and our family suffered a tragic loss with the sudden death of my 34 year old cousin.  Please say a prayer for Stephen - drug addition is a cruel thing.

I'm convinced that every once in a while, a particular month presents challenges one right after the other - October was like that.  But, all one can do is have faith - I am though, glad this month is coming to a close.

We were fortunate though, to be able to get away for a bit,  take some time, and try to relax and refresh. ........

I finally managed to start doing some Halloween decorating around the house  when we get home.  Gotta love Martha - I had picked up these cool bottle labels last month from her tons of Halloween craft items.  What a quick, simple,  fun way to create that spooky spirit.  I saved a couple of wine bottles and an olive oil bottle, washed them out and reapplied Martha's labels.  I refilled the bottles with water and added some food coloring.   The end result?   I love my tray of creepy potions in the kitchen!

I've not scrapped for quite some time - since my last Magpie kit, actually.  I am starting to miss it a bit, and am off today, so here's hoping!  I've an Amy Tan class that I totally missed!

Enjoy your Wednesday.  Happy to see you again.

Just Amy Tangerine Reasons To Smile

I was thrilled to be able to snag a class kit from Amy Tangerine's Reasons to Smile class.  To say I love her fun, spunky designs is an understatement.

I called my mini "Smile for Summer", and here are a few of the pages.

Stitched tags - such a cool idea.

Kraft star stickers - yum,

Fun die cut pieces,

and dimensional stickers.

And I love that the pages are all different shapes and sizes.

Next up, The Good Life, at BPC.  REALLY looking forward to that one.

Have a happy Friday.

Just A Fast, Fall Wreath

So, for a quick fall door decoration,

Supplies:

Grapevine Wreath Ring
Leave Garland
Fall Berry Garland

Tools:

Glue Gun  I (love my Martha one)
Wire cutters

This went together REALLY fast.

Using the wire cutters, cut up the leave and bead garlands into small pieces.  Glue to wreath base.   Done!!!  Not rocket science, I know, but it really was kind of fun.

I made one for my mom, too.

Enjoy your Monday.

Just Friday

Well, Irene really kicked us in the butt - I'm so glad to have our power back on and finally, after two weeks, feel "normal" again.  Mother nature really can throw a wrench into things for sure.   We had no power for almost five days, like many others, and it really, truly was awful.  We are all electric at home, so, needless to say, those cold showers were really starting to put me in a bad mood. The big guy and I ended up checking into a hotel - I just couldn't take it any more.   In the end, we are thankful - it could have been so much worse.

My friend and I followed through with our trip to the Cape, and despite the lack of power there, we did make the best of it.  We laughed, ate, shopped, hung on the beach - all that Cape stuff.  We came home a day early, but we had fun - who needs power, right?  We still had daylight.

Here's our cottage,

Fun at the beach,

The water was WICKED cold,

I've more pictures to edit and post.

I've also some Magpie layouts that I wasn't able to post earlier.  Tara has done it again, so head on over and snag yourself a kit before they are sold out.  Lots of fun stuff in the box!

Here are two more, and, as always, except the lace, twine, and a punch here and there, these are created with ONLY supplies in the kit,

I've more to post over the weekend, and, oh my love, I spent the day on Wednesday playing with my Amy Tangerine loot!!

Enjoy your Friday.

Just Love

I'm jumping on for another Magpie peek and then I'm off to pick up some hurricane supplies.......they've just officially changed us from watch to warning, so I'm thinking I'll pay attention, and better be safe than sorry.  Really though, this was in the mail box today, so I'm thinking its all I really need to keep myself occupied as Irene makes her way through.......

A huge thank you to Amy Tan and American Crafts.  Can I just say L.O.V.E.!!!!!

And here's that Magpie peek.  Again, I say LOVE!!!
