Just Stacked Numbers

Hello on a Thursday, and I hope you enjoyed your Valentine's Day.  We spent a fun overnight at MGM Grand, enjoying chocolate dipped cheesecake, red velvet cupcakes, lobster rangoon and other yums that will require me to spin for the next fifty years!!!!

Anyway, last week the Studio Calico blog featured a tutorial on embossing on a transparency by the marvelous Miss Vee. It was a perfect idea to use with  the awesome stacked numbers stamp from this month's Cocoa Daisy kit, so I went with it.

This stamp has made it to the list of one of my favorites.

Love, right?  You can buy it here.

I grabbed me some Chestnut Zing, stamped on a piece of transparency, embossed, then cut it up into three pieces and placed the numbers over some Elle's Studio tags, which I kept in one, large piece.  Neat effect, I thought.

I'm continuing to play with this, so stay tuned!!

Just Sketch Number 32

Hello on a snowy Saturday.  Well, there really isn't so much snow falling, not the six or so inches they predicted for sure.  Actually, you have to strain your eyes to see it!!  But, its keeping me inside, and I won't complain about that!

Anyway.......every week they have a sketch over on the Pretty Little Studio Blog and it seems like the weeks fly by and I never get to it.  This week, I'm in!  I so adore their products, and cannot wait for the Monsieur Collection in March - totally love it!!  If you haven't seen the fun vintage stuff over there, be sure to take a look.

Anyway, here's the sketch,

And here's my layout.

I'm thinking I may need to make some brownies now.......... :)

Enjoy your day!

Just HB 2011

Jumping on really quick to share my contribution to the fourth round of the layout contest at Practical Scrappers, and then I'm off to have the Envoy serviced.

This was a cool challenge - black and white with a pop of color.

I used black cardstock, white acrylic paint and white mist for my blackground, then played around with some JB label stickers, a Cocoa Daisy stamp and some other various itty bitty fun things and strung them together to create a banner. Even pulled out the EK Fastenator for this one - an oldie but a goodie.

If you're blog hopping today, make sure to check out the stunning creations.  And don't forget to vote!!!

Are you ready for the BIG GAME tomorrow?  We are PSYCHED!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend.

Just Wednesday

Here we are on Wednesday again.  I've not too much planned, other than continuing to have a bit of fun with Cocoa Daisy's January kit, Tea and Cupcakes.  Its a wonderful mix of Amy Tan, Studio Calico and Sassafrass.

When the big guy and I were at MGM Grand in July, I spent hours by the pool.  I snapped this one night about 7:15 PM.  I'd been reading, looked up, and saw I was one of maybe only ten (10)  people left still outside.  Well us, and a lone beach ball!!!
